At IMCD, we’ve always been curious, passionate, and ambitious.

Right from the early days, we have applied our entrepreneurial mindset to every opportunity that we uncover through working with our customers and suppliers.
This, in turn, has fueled our drive to adopt a true partnership model. Not satisfied with being the ‘middleman�, we set out to evolve and became one of the first distribution partners and formulators of speciality chemicals and ingredients to share information transparently, delivering sales data and market intelligence through a single point of contact. Through taking expertise in-house, we’ve grown to provide our customers with the technical know-how they need to turn market trends into products that make a real difference.

The Supervisory Board announced that Marcus Jordan assumes the role of CEO from 24 April. Marcus is a member of the Management Board and COO since 2022. Throughout his 26-year career with the company, he served as President of Americas, Group Development Director and in various strategic roles in our UK organisation. He has been a member of the Executive Committee since 2014.

IMCD celebrates its 10th listing anniversary. CEO Valerie Diele-Braun struck the gong to mark the beginning of a new day on the Amsterdam stock exchange.

The Supervisory Board nominates Valerie Diele-Braun as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 2024, succeeding founder CEO Piet van der Slikke. IMCD completes 13 acquisitions and signed five share or asset purchase agreements (to be closed in 2024), adding complementary business to all regions and in various market segments.

With 11 acquisitions, IMCD successfully expanded its global network and product portfolio in all its regions.

Furthermore, IMCD launched a new business group, Industrial Solutions, offering customers dedicated application experts in four key areas: chemical intermediaries, environmental technologies, material technologies and processing technologies.
 
Increasing its sustainability efforts, IMCD joined Together for Sustainability, a member-driven initiative that aims to raise CSR standards throughout the chemical industry. Additionally, IMCD was included as one of 25 companies in the Dutch ESG AEX, demonstrating best Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices.

In the APAC region, we accelerated our growth in the personal care market and improved our portfolio in life sciences, home care, water treatment and waterborne coatings solutions. Through acquisitions in the Americas region, we strengthened our industrial market presence in Central America, Peru, the Caribbean, and Colombia. In EMEA, we bolster our presence to better serve customers and partners throughout Southeast Europe (SEE).

IMCD celebrates 25 years of innovation and value creation.
  • 2019
IMCD moves into the Dutch blue chip AEX index.
  • 2015 - 2018
IMCD establishes a footprint in the U.S and Canada and strengthens its operations in Latin America and Asia. IMCD develops its laboratories into a global network of technical centres that provide its partners with high-quality technical advice and formulation expertise.

In 2014 IMCD is listed on the Euronext Stock Exchange in Amsterdam.

Internatio-Müller Chemical Distribution becomes a stand-alone business and formally changes its name to IMCD.

  • 1995
Under the management of Piet van der Slikke, a group of companies within Internatio-Müller form a separate division to become a new player in the field of speciality chemicals distribution.
